A corner of a small private gym with a squat rack, bench and loaded barbell

Two coaches, fifty years between them.

Kenny and Lisa Rye have been training together for twenty years and coaching other people for most of them. One of us will suit you better than the other, and we will say which.

Kenny and Lisa Rye

Thirty five years in the gym

Kenny

He watched Pumping Iron, got hooked, and entered his first bodybuilding show four years later. He won the first timers title and best posing routine, and two years after that he was Junior Mr South Coast. His first job at twenty was as a trainer in a local gym. He is 58 and still competing. In between, a consultant told him he needed a spinal operation; he dropped seventy pounds instead and has spent the years since working with other people's backs.

Twenty years coaching, and now yoga

Lisa

She has been training alongside Kenny for over twenty years, and the thing she is proudest of is helping one man lose a hundred pounds, which got him running. She practised yoga for eleven years before training to teach it, and is now a 200 hour registered teacher running classes, workshops and retreats. As a mum she knows exactly how it feels to be bottom of your own list.

What we believe

.01

Small steps, then more small steps

Improving one meal a day leads to two. Drinking enough water clears your head. One workout a week makes you feel better. None of it is dramatic and all of it compounds.

.02

Food should still be enjoyable

No fad diets, no gimmicks, nothing you love crossed off a list. What, how, when and why you eat matters more than any single rule anybody can sell you.

.03

We would rather talk you out of it

If you are not ready, we would rather say so than take your money and watch it not work. That is not a test you have to pass. It is just honesty, early.

.04

Your head is part of the job

Confidence, sleep, and the voice that tells you not to bother. Most of what stops people is not the training, and pretending otherwise helps nobody.

Come and have a look

The easiest way to find out whether this is for you is to come and see the room and talk to whichever of us you would be working with. It costs nothing.
